Hello.

I need to setup tigervnc on my computer but each time I connect, I only get a black screen

Here is my `~/.vnc/config`

    session=gnome
    geometry=1920x1200
    alwaysshared

Here is my `/etc/tigervnc/vncserver.users`:

    # TigerVNC User assignment
    #
    # This file assigns users to specific VNC display numbers.
    # The syntax is <display>=<username>. E.g.:
    #
     :2=jenia
    # :3=lisa

I access my vnc server from mac using

    open vnc://[ip]:5902.

P.S.

As I'm typing this I'm realizing that the user `jenia` is my user and I'm logged in into gnome session with that user right now. Perhaps that is the reason why I'm getting a black screen?

Generally logging in as the same user as you are connecting to via VNC
won't work because of technical limitations (which you should report to
your distribution to make them aware).

Does things work fine if you use different users for the VNC session and
the local session?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
