Auburn softball adds Katelyn Hubley to pitching staffAnother piece of the Auburn pitching staff is in place as softball co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux announced the signing of sophomore right-handed pitcher Katelyn Hubley for the upcoming 2027 season.
Hubley is coming off an impressive freshman campaign at Campbell, where she earned All-Coastal Athletic Association First Team and All-Rookie Team honors. Hubley joins Makayla Stephens (Georgia State) as one of Auburn's two transfer portal signees.
“Katelyn is a very methodical and calculated competitor,” said Chris Malveaux. “She brings experience as a leader in the bullpen along with a big-time hunger to get better. She is wired for success. She has a high ceiling developmentally, and she won’t stop until she gets there. We’re so excited to add such a great person along with her great family to the Auburn community.”
A native of Henrico, Virginia, Hubley led the Camels' pitching staff with a 2.28 ERA and a 19-6 record. She tossed 18 complete games, including five shutouts. Carrying the bulk of the workload in the circle with 163 innings pitched, Hubley held opponents to a .237 batting average. She was the lone Camel to finish with 100 or more strikeouts, and she led the CAA with 150. Her efforts earned her three CAA Pitcher of the Week honors in 2026.
Hubley finished in the top five in the conference in multiple categories, including complete games, ERA, starts, hits allowed per seven innings (6.3), innings pitched, shutouts, strikeouts, strikeouts per seven innings (6.4), victories and WHIP (1.28).

“Makayla brings a ‘dawg’ mentality and is known as a fierce competitor,” said Chris Malveaux. “She has nonstop energy and brings leadership to our pitching staff. Experience and strikeouts are two big things that she will add to the rotation going into the fall. She’s a great person and is bringing a great family to Auburn.”

Auburn infielder Kyla Stroud announces transfer to Georgia TechBy Taylor Jones
Auburn Wire
Former Auburn infielder Kyla Stroud has become the latest member of Auburn's 2026 roster to find a new home.
Stroud announced Friday that she is heading to Georgia Tech after spending three seasons with the Auburn Tigers. The Covington, Georgia native will now spend her final two eligible seasons closer to home.
Stroud broke out as a redshirt sophomore in 2026 by appearing in 43 games, making 29 starts at designated player after appearing in 14 games total in her first two seasons on the Plains. Her first big season saw her record 21 hits in 77 at-bats, culminating in a .273 average with three home runs and 18 RBI. She slugged .481 with nine extra base hits.
Stroud is the third player from Auburn's 2026 roster to find a new home after entering the transfer portal. Delaney Aumua announced Thursday that she is headed to Tulsa after starting 14 games during her freshman season. Earlier in the transfer portal cycle, infielder Melania Luostari announced that she will return to her home state to play for Wisconsin.
Auburn has added a pair of pitchers from the transfer portal, Makayla Stevens of Georgia State and Katelyn Hubley of Campbell, while Malayna Tamborra, SJ Geurin, and Thalia Martin continue to search for new homes.
