One of the biggest names to enter the transfer portal from Auburn baseball has found a new home.
Former Auburn center fielder Bristol Carter announced his commitment to SEC rival South Carolina on Monday via X. He joins the Gamecocks and first-year coach Kevin Schnall after spending two seasons with the Auburn Tigers.
Carter joined Auburn's roster in 2025 after spending his freshman season at East Carolina, where he was a Freshman All-American. He started 85 games over two seasons at Auburn, logging 79 hits, 38 RBI, and 44 walks. Carter is known for his speed. He stole 45 bases on 50 attempts and made 186 putouts as a center fielder for the Tigers.
Carter is the latest to find a new home through the transfer portal, joining pitchers Mason Koch (Creighton) and Saxon Roberts (East Carolina). Auburn has landed several additions through the transfer portal, especially at pitcher. Among the additions is speedy center field prospect John Beverley, who swiped 35 bases for Georgia State in 2026.
