Auburn's Thalia Martin commits to Georgia State via transfer portal

Auburn softball's first transfer portal entry has found a new home.
Thalia Martin entered the transfer portal shortly after Auburn's season ended in the SEC Tournament in May. Friday, she announced that she has found her new home. Martin will now play for the Georgia State Panthers after spending three seasons on the Plains.
Martin was a mainstay in Auburn softball games, appearing in 98 games over her three-year stretch in Auburn; 27 of those came last season. She scored 29 runs during her time in Auburn and recorded five putouts in the field.
She is the latest member of Auburn's 2026 squad to find a new home, joining pitcher SJ Geurin (Texas State), Delaney Aumua (Tulsa), Kyla Stroud (Georgia Tech), and Melania Luostari (Wisconsin). At the time of this report, pitcher Malayna Tamborra has not found a new home yet after entering the transfer portal as a graduate student.
So far this transfer portal cycle, Auburn has reeled in two pitchers. Georgia State pitcher Makayla Stephens was the first to commit to Auburn, with Campbell pitcher Katelyn Hubley quickly following suit. The duo will pair with returners Charlee Butler and ace Ella Harrison for the 2027 season.
