My son is in his 20th year of a 35yr sentance. He has been up fore
review many times, but never gets past the unit parole coordinator she
utomaticly gives him a set off and wont forward his file to parole. My
son is a very quite person and bis afraid if he ask questions it could
cause a problem. He had never been in trouble before, and has a
spotless prison record. On his last set off I was very upset so I
called the women at the unit that he saw. Her remarks to me were she
looked at some really nasty pictures (he is there for injury to the
elderly) and she informed me that he still had schitzoprenia . I told
her I was very aware of that and I was the one that demanded he be put
in a medical unit so he could recieve treatment. I also told her his
schitzophrenia was not his crime but most likely a lifetime disease
and he was being successfully treated which would also continue in the
free world. My health is very bad and I want to be here to help him
readjust to society, he can live with me on a cattle and horse farm or
I have bought hi, a 40ft. travel trailer if he prefers that. He will
work on the farm feeding, caring for the horses and cattle. He will
also cut and bail hay. He is due for review early 2012 and on one of
the sites they mentioned a parole packet where do we find one, and
does anyone have any advise as to what I can do to at least get him
past the unit parole caseworker and to the board. How can we find out
what month he will come up? I know this is alot of questions but I
dont know where to turn, and this time I want to be as proactive as
possible. Thank anyone who can help.
