Please give me some feedback if you have any knowledge about the
Michael Unit?

My son is in the Michael Unit. Been there a few years now.
What would you like to know about Michael Unit?
So far, it is better than the units my son was at previously.
The guards for the most part are professional, some are actually
even nice to the visitors.
Since being at the Michael unit my son has managed to stay out
of trouble and he got promoted to the dorms. He gets to wear an
orange band. He has gotten his GED and he just completed a plumbing
and pipefitting course. Also he has now started a A/C class which I am
paying for.

Hi JC, I had a son on Michael unit for about 10 yrs. and we both
really liked the unit compared to other units. Atmoshere was much more
calm in comparison units, and they did not seem to have some of the
violence problems of other units. The one complaint I did have was
each time I visited my son I noticed his behavior becoming very
strange and erratic. He was becoming more and more parinoid. Finally I
said enough is enough and requested an emergency visit with the
warden. I informed him of the problem and said I wanted him moved to a
medical unit so he could be treated for what was obvious
schitzaphrenia (spelling). I also stated that I felt the staff should
have noticed this long ago. He expressed his concern and said he would
check into the matter. When I called the warden back on a Wednesday
after my visit my son had already been transfered to Skyview unit
where he was diagnosed and they immediately started treatment. He is
still there now going on 10 yrs. but is doing well. The other thing
you might want to know is that the warden that was at Skyview unit Mr
Foxworthy (everyone really liked and respected him) is from what I
hear at the Michael unit now. My son always said he was a very good
warden and they were said he was transfered. Hope This helps and God
