classification status

I need to know where I can find information on qualifications for inmates to get reclassified from an S3 Status to S2 Trustee Status. Does TDCJ have this listed in a manual of some sort? or on their website? How can I get this information on line? Or do I need to go thru the Ombudsman office?
My son is at the Ellis Unit and it appears they have a fairly decent Trustee Camp on the outside of the Unit. Does anyone have any information on this ?

The TDCJ website is a pretty good one, although I honestly don't know if
it has that info. That'd be the first place I'd check. Just put Texas
Department of Criminal Justice into your browser.

As I remember it, there is a classifications person on each unit, so
you might want to start with the Ellis Unit. (Please note that I said
"As I remember it" . . . lately my memory hasn't been as useful as it
once was.) Also, Rebecca Price is listed as heading up
"Classification and Records" under Support Operations for TDCJ. You
can write to her at the usual PO Box 99, Huntsville, TX 77342 and
her phone number is 936-437-6231. Surely if they do not have the
answers you need, they will be able to tell you where to call next.
