Meeting Location Change / Sept 22 New Student Dinner

Dear Friends,

I wanted to notify those of you who are not aware of this change that we will begin meeting again in the Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel this Sunday at 220 South 17th St, which is on 17th Street directly south of Walnut Street.  The church service begins at 11:00 AM, per usual. Our meeting room location will be announced on the digital board which is next to the elevators at the hotel. Occasionally the meeting room will change location, due to restrictions that the hotel may have. 

We will be having a Welcome New Students BBQ at Martin and Machiko's house on Saturday, September 22nd, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Please invite anyone you know who is a new student at university, or who is a student who we have not met yet! Martin and Machiko live at 36 Silverbirch Rd, Tunersville, NJ 08012. 

Please RSVP in advance. I will soon send out a online document link soon so that those who are coming can sign up to bring side dishes or dessert or soda or chips. Machiko will be making hamburgers and hotdogs and salad and rice. All students do not need to bring anything - they are our guests! We will have Halal meat for those who are observant.

We will have an outing on October 27th - mark your calendars! We are planning to go to Hawk Mountain to hike! We will carpool from the church. Each person will need about $5 to give for gas for the cars (unless you are driving) and $8 for park entrance as well as some food and water for the hike. More information will be sent out soon!

For those of you who knew that Bruce McDowell and I and 10 other people were away in Colombia on a mission trip - thank you for your prayers - we all had an amazing time! God really blessed our trip!

An update about the BBQ:

Attached are two documents with driving directions to Martin and Machiko's house. Please check them out if you will be driving and do not have GPS.

Remember that this BBQ is open to everyone. You can come if you are a student, if you are not a student, if you are an American, or if you are from another country - we want everyone to join us for fellowship!

If you have not yet signed up, please do so by tonight. I am coordinating rides from the church to the Whittakers and need to know how many people need rides. We are a bit short on rides back to Philadelphia, so we will most likely be taking a couple of people to the PATCO train in NJ at the end of the BBQ, so that they can ride the train back to Philadelphia. It will only take about 15 minutes to get to Philly and will cost no more than $3.
