Other error codes may be generated by third party services or apps (for example, Error Code: -118 may be displayed by the Steam game service) and in those situations you would contact the third party's support line.
System Error Codes are very broad: each one can occur in one of many hundreds of locations in the system. Consequently, the descriptions of these codes cannot be very specific. Use of these codes requires some amount of investigation and analysis. You need to note both the programmatic and the runtime context in which these errors occur.
Because these codes are defined in WinError.h for anyone to use, sometimes the codes are returned by non-system software. And sometimes the code is returned by a function deep in the stack and far removed from code that is handling the error.
The following list describes system error codes (errors 0 to 499). They are returned by the GetLastError function when many functions fail. To retrieve the description text for the error in your application, use the FormatMessage function with the FORMAT_MESSAGE_FROM_SYSTEM flag.
This article covers error codes that are generated by Device Manager in Windows. You probably reached this article because Device Manager or another tool like DXDiag reported an error code, and you are not sure how to resolve it. In this article, we will help you find your error code and suggest what you might try to correct the error.
If the above steps didn't help you resolve your problem or were not available, locate your error code in the following table, and follow the recommended resolutions for that error code. You may also click the specific error code to get more detail information.
Note This article doesn't contain all error codes generated by Device Manager. If you are getting an error code that isn't listed here, you can contact the hardware device vendor's technical support or Microsoft Support for help.
Right-click the device that has the problem, and then click Properties. This opens the device's Properties dialog box. You can see the error code in the Device status area of this dialog box.
This error can occur if two devices that are installed on your computer have been assigned the same I/O ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or both). This error message can also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device.
Use Device Manager to determine the source of and to resolve the conflict. For more information about how to resolve device conflicts, see the Help information about how to use Device Manager. This error message can also appear if the BIOS did not allocate sufficient resources to a device. For example, this message will display if the BIOS does not allocate an interrupt to a USB controller because of an invalid multiprocessor specification (MPS) table.
This error message can also appear if the BIOS did notallocate sufficient resources to a device. For example, this message will be displayed if the BIOS does not allocate an interrupt to a USB controller because of an invalid multiprocessor specification (MPS) table.
This error means that Windows is in the process of removing the device. However, the device has not yet been completely removed. This error code is temporary, and exists only during the attempts to query and then remove a device.
The device is installed incorrectly. The problem could be a hardware failure, or a new driver might be needed. Devices stay in this state if they have been prepared for removal. After you remove the device, this error disappears.
A duplicate device was detected. This error occurs when a bus driver incorrectly creates two identically named sub-processes (known as a bus driver error), or when a device with a serial number is discovered in a new location before it is removed from the old location.
No resolution is necessary. This error code is only used to indicate the disconnected status of the device and does not require you to resolve it. The error code resolves automatically when you connect the associated device to the computer.
No resolution is necessary. The hardware device should work correctly next time that you start the computer. This error code is only set when Driver Verifier is enabled and all applications have already been shut down.
My question is essentially the same as:
-build-error/21744
I even went through the same steps as @Al_Sherif_Ahmed_Khal
And receive the same error message.
ValidationError: Invalid configuration object. Webpack has been initialized using a configuration object that does not match the API schema.
I am in here now. For the sake of time, I chose to keep hitting enter until it accepts the command. That was explained as a workaround in the post you shared. I was able to upload a product. However, I hit enter about 7 times to dismiss that windows error message. The error message appears after every command, which is bothersome.
I was traveling to Mexico and I went to open I-Tunes on the plane and that error message came up. After reading many posts, I thought I was going to have to spend hours trying to fix this problem while on vacation. I am so happy I kept on reading and found richardsealy's post!!
I'm still kind of new to ghost so I was looking for insight on an issue I am having. I am currently running my Ghost Soution Suite Console (3.2) from a server running windows server 2008 R2 and I am trying to create an image of an HP laptop running Windows 7. Every thing is running smoothly both the server and laptop can ping one another, I have the DAgent installed through the remote agent installer, and I have the automation folders installed but when I try to boot the computer into the Symantec Ghost Preboot Environment I'm getting the windows failed to start error witht the status code of 0x000000f. At this point I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the automation folders but nothing has worked. Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated.
Hello Brycen and thanks for the response. So I just looked over my server and there doesn't appear to be any antivirus software running on it. In regards to the boot disk creator stuff I did see that only WINPE 5X x86 and x64 were installed. I followed your process and now WINPE 10 x86 and x64 are both installed. Now I have tried re-installing the automation folders and I'm still getting that windows error. Did I need to go in and get rid of waik_winpe5 folder and also did I need to edit the configurations of my two existing automation folder configs. THanks again.
I have recorded the web based application and initialy I got 401 (Unauthorised) issue. I have selected the "Wininet replay insteda of sockets (Windows only) option. It has resolve this issue but I am getting the another error at the end of the script:
HttpSendRequest time out only occurres when any transaction takes more than 30 sec to connect to server. This default 30 sec time is because of the use of WinInet Replay engine. Thus this error pops up when you are running script with winInet replay and transactions are taking more than 30 sec.
In here I am getting the error like "401" but this will pass if I use "winInet instead of socket". But at the end of the script I am getting the error like "HttpSendRequest failed, Windows error code=12002 and retry limit (0) exceeded for URL". I have noticed that the application takes more tha 30 sec and it causes the failure of script. But I would like to know how overcome this issue.

In SAS on Virtual Desktop, certain drives cause crashes and an error of "ERROR: Windows error code: 53 in hx_disk_access ..." when opened in SAS Explorer, often after a long wait. SAS may seem to crash or display an hourglass icon for a long time.
When connecting to applications on Virtual Desktop, the Citrix Workspace App will "remap" the local hard drives and network drives that are mapped on your local computer so they will appear in the remote session. This allows access to files that are stored on the hard drive of the computer you are connecting from. SAS is not compatible with Citrix local drive remapping and errors or crashes may result.
Drives such as your home drive (H:) are mapped whenever you log into any windows computer on campus. When you log into an application on Virtual Desktop, these drives are mapped as well so they will show up twice - once for the login to the Virtual Desktop server and once when logged into your client computer (remapped to the session). Opening the remapped drives in SAS will cause issues but opening the drives that were mapped when you logged into the Virtual Desktop session will open fine.
