How do I get Chromium to run?
$rocks enable chromium typed into a terminal will enable Chromium,
redirecting all 3D output to the subnodes. $rocks disable chromium
will disable Chromium, allowing you to test 3D programs on the head
node to see if any problems you have are Chromium-related or the fault
of something else. A test program is available; $glxgears .
What do you have installed already?
So far, we have Google Earth installed as part of a geography learning
project we were calling Pale Blue Dot . Also installed is a copy of
Stepmania. Both are meant to interact with a DDR mat on the floor via
QJoypad. Qjoypad is a program that translates peripheral input into
keyboard input. Connect the DDR mat to the head node via the provided
cables, and then run $qjoypad in a terminal. You shouldn't see
anything on the taskbar, and that terminal should spinlock, but next
to the clock, a new icon should appear. Double-click on that icon, and
you'll be able to view the settings for the qjoypad program. From
there, you can bind keys on the DDR mat to keyboard inputs. Don't
close the terminal qjoypad was running in, though, or qjoypad will
quit.
All you guys had to do was ask. Have any problems come up?
