These skeletal dogs are in such dire condition, one cannot stand or walk properly due to a suspected broken hip. Rescued in a joint effort by Lady Freethinker and Jakarta Animal Aid Network, the dogs now need critical treatment including surgery, nutritional rehabilitation, and long-term veterinary care.
The dogs -- now named Thelma and Louise -- are sweet and affectionate despite the terrible cruelty they have endured. But the road to recovery will be long and difficult.
