The FIDE Online Chess Olympiad 2021 was the second FIDE Online Chess Olympiad, an annual online chess tournament organised by the Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) since 2020, following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was virtually hosted by China and took place from 20 August to 15 September 2021 on Chess.com's server.[1] Russia finished first and the United States second, while China and India tied for the third place.

oj.uz is a great online judge that has most of the Olympiadproblems that you'll probably want to solve. However, other great online judgeswith different Olympiad problems exist. Also, theOI Checklist is a great way to trackyour progress.

Worldwide Online Olympiad Training (WOOT) is an olympiad preparation and testing program, run by AoPS, that brings together many of the best students from around the world to learn Olympiad problem solving skills.

There are two competitions at this level. One is an online quiz, whilst the paper competition has questions that provide more of a student challenge.
They are aimed at the first year of A level (or equivalent) Year 12 (UK)

To enrol for MTG Olympiad Online classes, go to our online classes section and buy the Class 2- Olympiad Online Classes for SOF-IMO Level 1. After the purchase, you will receive an email with the login details which you can use to access online classes.

The Olympiad was for the first time in history held online as over-the-board chess is still out of the question in view of the corona virus pandemic. The event lasted five weeks and included more than 1500 players. The time control was rapid: 15 minutes plus 5 seconds increment. In case of a tie a match was decided by an Armageddon game (5 versus 4 minutes, no increment). The games were played on chess.com.

One more word on chess24's behalf: We would have liked to have highlighted the Olympiad more. Unfortunately, FIDE did not find the tournament important enough to require acceptable live PGNs from the hosting site. What we got instead: delayed and unpredictable URLs for the PGNs, which then came without tags for rounds or boards, online handles instead of real names and no or only belated aliases. There is no technical reason for this.

THIS IS THE ONLY FUTURE CHESS HAS...Again we must go
USA worldwide online to give our great young players team matches against NOTHING in the United States where team matches are unheard of .....the days of planes , hotels , worthless road to no where tourneys and bankruptcy plus RETIREMENT AT AGE 18-21 /COLLEGE AGE for pro players is over.

Also. please note the very .well written world summary of the Fide Online world chess olympiad by Mr. Brian Jerauld ...giving good mention to great Russian players as well. These people toil in the shadows and often in terrible economic and personal circumstances to boot. You have no idea....

Is WOOT designed for people with absolutely no background in olympiad math?
MellowMelon 2019-08-01 20:09:40
WOOT offers a lot of material aimed at several levels of students, and a lot of it is catered to people with no olympiad experience at all. But even olympiad veterans should be able to learn from it (which is why people take it multiple times)."

Each Practice Olympiad has three levels, ranging from beginner to National Olympiad/IMO difficulty. Students can switch levels from one Practice Olympiad to the next. (Enrolled students will have a sample olympiad at the start of the course to help them gauge difficulty.) Students have 3 hours to take each test. Students turn in their work by uploading onto our website using a button in the classes page, by emailing to a specified address, or by faxing. We will then provide feedback on student work online. We will have an orientation session at the start of WOOT with many more details."

How hard are the introductory level Practice Olympiads?
MellowMelon 2019-08-01 20:12:06
The beginner level practice olympiads are substantially easier than the USAJMO, and perhaps on par with the easier national olympiads out there. Students who are just getting started with olympiad problems should find them a good fit."
"ojns 2019-08-01 19:54:21
how close are the difficulties between the practice tests and the actual test?
MellowMelon 2019-08-01 19:54:22
On our practice olympiads, the intermediate level we have is a bit easier than the USAJMO, and the advanced level is a bit easier than the USAMO. Part of that is because we have a 3 hour time limit for the same number of problems instead of the USA(J)MO's 4.5 hour limit."

The p-sets and the olympiads are designed at multiple levels. So you could have your son just do the 'basic' level, and skip the other 2/3rds. My ds did WOOT for 3 years, and graduated from basic, to moderate, to advanced over that period. Have him do problems in the 'zone of proximal development.'

Intelli Homeschooling is a perfect mix of affection and discipline that our daughter has received. By enrolling Avisha for Intelli Homeschooling, we have personally felt that only school classes would never have done such wonders that IntelliBrain has done. It has not only made her academic concepts strong but also has helped her to relate them to real-life situations. With their unique methodology of the experimental, experiential and edutaining mode of learning, they have kept their promise of developing Love for Learning in Avisha as she waits for her Intelli sessions eagerly. The way they manage the schedule of sessions, clear doubts & take regular tests to assess performance online is really appreciable.Homeschooling is the perfect choice that we made for her.

Flexible slots highlight the CREST olympiad among the working parents, where parents can personally see their wards appearing for computer-based practice and main exams. Types of questions, the format of exam & ease of use are some points to mention..

My understanding is that the internal problems and solutions, from the actual USA(J)MO committee, are copyrighted by MAA. To my knowledge they are not published anywhere. The Math Magazine has recently resumed publishing yet another version of the problems and solutions of the olympiad.

In high school, I and some others ran two online contests called NIMO (National Internet Math Olympiad) and OMO (Online Math Open). Neither contest is active at the time of writing (April 2021) but I collected all the materials and put them in a Google Drive link since the websites for those contests is not currently online. Most of the problems are short-answer problems.

For the eighth time, the Italian national contest (valid for the selection of the Italian IOI team) will be mirrored into an online contest. The contest is primarily intended for high school contestants, but everyone is welcome to participate! There are both easy subtasks (div2A) and very hard ones (div1D+), so it can be enjoyable both for newcomers and for very high rated contestants.

Upsolving: After the end of the contest, tasks will be uploaded in the Italian training website (localised also in English), section "task & quiz archive", where they will be available for online evaluation (after registering to the website).

Format: The Qualifier round is a 25-minute online quiz. Participants are asked to answer 10 multiple choice questions. Those who get 8 or more answers correct in the Qualifiers, will move to the Quarter Finals.

Attempts: Each participant can attempt the Qualifier up to 3 times. Take part in our referral program to get 1 additional attempt per person you refer. Know more about our referral program

Certificate: All participants will be awarded a certificate for participation, a notable addition to any college application or resume.

Preparation: The best way to improve your chances is by practising on our quiz app available for free on the App Store and Google Play Store. Here, you may even find questions that appear in the CS Olympiad Qualifies

In fact, our data shows that participants who frequently use the quiz app are 10 times more likely to move onto the Quarter Finals!

Format: The Quarter Finals round is a 25-minute online quiz. Quarter Finalists will be asked to answer 15 in depth multiple choice questions. Those who get 13 or more answers correct in the Quarter Finals, will move to the Semi Finals.

Attempts: Each participant will get 1 attempt for every successful Qualifier attempt. This means if you don't succeed at the Quarter finals on your first attempt, you can use any other Qualifier attempts to try again.

Preparation: For Quarter Finals, the best way to prepare is by completing our courses as well as practising on the ClimateScience Quiz App.

Our Discord server is the best place for you to talk to likeminded players about everything mind-sports and board-games! During our online competitions this is also the best way for you to communicate with us to answer any questions you might have.

Some 40 top division teams divided into four groups took part in the online Olympiad. The top three teams from each group advance to the playoffs consisting of a qualifying round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The Online World Chess Olympiad is held online on the Chess.com gaming platform.

1) Selected reviews may be taken and submitted online (you must register for the online reviews so results can be reported to you - in the form of an emailed PDF document - and to your Certification Chair).
