Just guessing, but given it has a number 4 nib I would say it is a no 4 safety filler. The pin is in the cap to keep you from capping the pen with the nib extended. You should be able to retract the nib and then cap it. Very nice pen by the way. You could get the oxidization removed and then add a nice snake clip.
yes when the nib is retracted fill it up with an eyedropper. You maybe want to check with water first to see whether the seals are good though, as you might otherwise take a shower in ink..... Cool pen.
always nice to see those old simplo Excuse me for the stupid question but how is it that a discolouration appear on the cap and on the barrel to the cap lip but not on the parts of the barrel that are under the cap? The cap is so tight that there is no discolouration under it?
