Dear friends,
The Alliance for Sustainable and Holistic Agriculture (ASHA) - Kisan Swaraj announces a round table conversation on Protecting Farmers from Natural Disasters through Preparedness, Compensation & Insurance on 30th June 2023 (Friday) @ 4:00 pm.
Since this is a round table conversation, it will not follow a webinar format and is envisaged as something more interactive where participants speak briefly to the point and offer thoughts and inputs, rather than have designated speakers. Hence, we invite you to not just save the date but also prepare for anything you have to say crisply on the subject of disaster preparedness, insurance and compensation in agriculture / for farmers.
It would be extremely useful if we can arrive at the exact alternatives and improvements that we are seeking, rather than dwell on the familiar problems of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and the like.
Do also share this with others who might be interested in this topic and / or have experiences and ideas which might contribute to developing a holistic perspective on this issue. This will be in English and Hindi with brief summary translations being provided between participants wherever required.
