Hi everyone,
I am really desperate. Hope someone can help me.
My computer crashed a few days ago, and I had to resintall
everything. Thankfully, I had an image backup of my windows. I
reinstalled Tidy Favorites in my new fresh installation of windows,
but I dont know how to restore my favorites and my configuration of
Tidy Favorites.
I found an article that says to copy the FDB file. I did that, but
as soon as I do it, Tidy Favorites becomes unusable, I get a cannot
connect to http://127.0.0.1:8998/index.html?sf error. I dont know
what to do. My Tidy Favorites had become a working tool so important
for me that I am lost now.

The thing is that having a backup of all my old files, there should be
a way to restore my bookmarks, Im sure. I just dont know which files
to copy and where. Just copying the FDB file to the application data
folder is not working.

I really appreciate any help!

Truly

Hi,

I recommend you move to online version,
http://online.tidyfavorites.com

In tidy Favorites Converter you may select path to your database and
convert your favorites in oline storage.

In other case you need to Install latest version of TF,
Copy file in application folder and run program in start menu.

Ok, for anyone having this problem, just wanted to let you know that
it was a permissions problem. The back up file I had, was an image
file, and the files were read-only (happens with iso and dmg image
backups). So, what I did was right click on my back up FDB file,
uncheck the read-only, and copy it again to the application data
folder. Then I tried opening my bookmarks but it still it didnt work,
so I reinstalled tidy favorites, and since it was already installed
it, just fixed the configuration problems, and voila, fixed. My
bookmarks are back.
Thanks again.

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
I registered to the online version, I indicated the path to my old FDB
file, but it wont import, it says the file is blocked by Tidy
Favorites. I tried placing the file in my desktop and indicating the
path there, but same message.

I also tried copying the same file to the Tidy Favorites application
folder (if I understood well from you message this would be another
option), I run from the start menu, nothing happens. I open firefox,
but still my old bookmarks are not there, it still looks like a fresh
install.

I tried copying again the FDB file to the application data folder, but
again I get the no connection error.

Thank you for your help!
