I just wanted to share this and maybe to a lot of you out there the
problem was obvious, but it was not to me. :) I found a solution to
this and wanted to share this before you come close to pulling your
hair out after hours of re-trying things and sifting through so much
irrelevant or out-dated advice on the net and even think "Curse you!
Curse.com!" as I did. hehe.
Well, the problem was that I installed it incorrectly due to the
programme I used to extract the zipped file. The programme I was using
extracted the file but created a new file instead of separating the
folders into its components. I did not know that for Tidy Plates there
were several folders you can copy into the folder World of Warcraft
\Interface\AddOns. So I just copied the folder it extracted. Started
up WoW and lo and behold: NOTHING. :) So I logged in to see if I could
see it on the Interface screen in-game and nope, nothing. The /
tidyplates command obviously did not work either. So, i retried, again
and read all the gumpf in the notepad files in the downloaded folders,
etc... Eventually, I got fed up. I decided to download the extracting
tool used for .rar files instead and re-try. I got this from the main
link:
http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html
. You can also find it on google if you search "extract rar files".
So, I installed WinRaR and re-downloaded the file, re-extracted and
**ta-da** six folders extracted:
TidyPlatesHub
TidyPlates_Quatre
TidyPlates_Neon
TidyPlates_Grey
TidyPlates_Graphite
I then copied the files into the folder: \World of Warcraft\Interface
\AddOns ... and that was it.
It works! :)
I reallly hope this will help someone out there one day and save you
some time if you come across the same probs.
