Hello All,
I have some great updates to share regarding the
TIDES Project.
Work is now underway on a major project at WMATA funded through a USDOT Smart grant. Part of the project involves direct support for the refinement and expansion of the TIDES spec and support for our TIDES community of practice. With this support, the folks at Jarvus have partnered with MobilityData, the TIDES Manager, to greatly expand work on TIDES.
Here are a few of the upcoming initiatives:
- The TIDES Implementers Group is meeting regularly to share experiences and discuss ideas and challenges implementing the TIDES specification in various contexts. The next meeting of the group is May 27 at 11am Central Time. Use the file at this link to add the meeting to your calendar!
- In support of the organizations that are implementing TIDES, Jarvus has started to work on a new Implementers Guide that will cover how to bring TIDES into your organization and your work. To support this work, please join the discussion about this work on GitHub.
- The TIDES Contributors Group will soon start to meet again and continue their work to refine and expand the TIDES spec. Stay tuned for more details.
- The WMATA project will include development of open-source tools to manage and use TIDES data. You will start to see those projects emerge later this summer.
We will share more on all these efforts soon, including details on how to join the Implementers Group and the Contributors Group.
Thank you for your ongoing support and interest in TIDES.
