Ive always been one for freedom of choice. Letting us play offline but not allowing those characters to be online hurts no one. But I think half of games these days being always online is just because its a form of piracy protection on the companies part. Though out of all the games I have played the way this one is designed the lag is kinda crazy. Yea its beta but this game is releasing in 2 months I dunno how much they can actually fix in such a short amount of time. But we never got an offline option in diablo3 and obviously WoW doesnt have one. Nor does path of exile or sea of thieves or pretty much any multiplayer game I have played in like 20 years. And I tend to avoid single player games despite not having friends to play with I want the option to be able to if I did have someone
If the game releases without an offline mode it will flop the same way D3 did. It took them 2 years after release to even make D3 worth the time. Most people forget, but at launch the RMAH and the fact that the only class that could reliably clear the hardest areas was demon hunter nearly killed the game completely.
