As mentioned in another thread just now, there are a few issues with our
custom styles in IE:

1. logo
The logo image has an odd "shadow"; it's duplicated on the right side so
the "g" (of ".org") shines through. That's probably because the logo
image is normally set via LocalSettings.php rather than Common.css.
I'll upload the logo file tomorrow (so we don't have to hotlink anymore)
and update LocalSettings.

2. sidebar
The sidebar (navigation boxes) is at the very right edge of the page,
leaving an ugly gap to the content area and looking mis-aligned with the
logo above.

3. tabs
There's a gap between inactive buttons in the horizontal tab bar and the
content area.
Also, the Edit button is transparent - probably due to my adding a
background image (UniversalWikiEditButton).

4. personal toolbar
The personal toolbar in the top-right corner is, well, not in the
top-right corner; there's a large margin to the righ side of the page.

That's all I could see at a glance now*; there might be more...

* Can't waste much time on this; still gotta work my way through 30+
postings; [tw] seems to have gone crazy today...

Fixed (logo is defined in LocalSettings.php now).

I have no idea how to fix this.

Haven't looked into this yet - but it is a bit odd, and I don't really
know exactly where to start...

Haven't looked into this yet either.

I don't have a huge lot of experience with CSS, and the lack of an
equivalent to Firefox's live CSS editing (via the Web Developer
extension) makes this a pain to check.
So I'd appreciate some help with this...

If we can't get these issues fixed, we'll have to go back to the
full-width layout - which would be a shame though; I kinda liked how
Simon had made it look (in Firefox at least).

PS: Most of our CSS code there should go into [[Monobook.css]] rather
than [[Common.css]] - but that's hardly an issue.

What is the actual location of the URL for this project, I don't see
any of what you are talking about. Not that I can be of much
assistance but I see it as an opportunity to learn this 'alternative'
wiki business. How do you make it do something :)

I guess you didn't get a very good induction. Ps, how was your dinner with Joanna?

Do something? Are we actually going to do something? I thought this group was about designing coffee mugs. ;)

No, I guess I didn't get a good induction, maybe it's because I have
great capacitance :) does that resonate.....

Great! Joanna and I had sprouts and bean soup. She's part of the New
Weird America movement for those who don't know; an acquired taste
like Vegemite...
