Good morning all,

    I've had a look around both in the Tiddlywiki (HTML 5 version) I've been using for, what, 2 months now and in the TiddlyWiki Community Documentation (http://tiddlywiki.org/) but failed to find anything about what I'm looking for. Hence my posting the question here :

    Would there be a way to change the way non-existing (yet) links look (right now in italics) so that they would show in red; pretty much like how it works on Wikipedia.

    I'm aware this is rather trivial but I'd greatly appreciate any information on the matter.

Thank you all.

Hi Pascal

Create a new tiddler "$:/MyStylesheet" tagged "$:/tags/Stylesheet" and the following content:

.tc-tiddlylink.tc-tiddlylink-missing {
font-style: normal;
color: red;
}

Best wishes

Jeremy.

I changed $:/tags/Stylesheet into $:/tags/stylesheet and tc into tw and it worked. Super. Thanks Jeremy, I really enjoy using this application. - Pascal

If you're using an older version I'd recommend upgrading to the most up to date version of TiddlyWiki. Is there any particular reason why you haven't done so?

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Hello Jeremy,
     I don't know how to upgrade from one version to a newer one and frankly since I'm happy with current one why bother (besides I'd be mad if I'd lose anything in the transition).

Since TiddlyWiki is 'self-contained' you can, of course, continue to use the older revision.  However, the version of TiddlyWiki you are using was from the *beta* release process and there have been several significant changes since then.

The problem with not upgrading is that people will answer your questions using the *current* TiddlyWiki methodolgies and syntax and, as you have discovered, these solutions may be 100% compatible with your old beta revision (e.g., the tag for stylesheets is now Capitalized, and the classname prefix was changed from "tw" to "tc")

One VERY important advantage of upgrading to the current full release version is that, unlike the beta revisions, Jeremy has committed to ensuring that all future revisions to TiddlyWiki will maintain backward-compatibility.

To upgrade your document, just visit http://tiddlywiki.com/upgrade and drop your existing file on the big arrow.  The rest is automatic.  (If you are worried about "losing anything", just make a backup copy of your current TiddlyWiki document before you upgrade).

Thanks for taking time to elaborate on the answer. I did what you suggested and it all went very well. Of course I needed to correct the tiddler "$:/MyStylesheet" which I had tweaked earlier but that was nothing really.
I'll make sure to upgrade regularly from now on.
Thank you so much, again.
