I guess that would depend on what you're trying to achieve
A number of Nicolas's goals surround authorship of pages, automatic
syncing and posting back to a MediaWiki server.

These are pretty "core", I've built snap-offs of Wikipedia articles
which just use the above plugins, e.g.:
http://whatfettle.com/2009/09/verticals/MediaWikiDemo.html.zip
Note: this has to run from a file URI to pull-down pages from
en.wikipedia.com?index.php?title=AJAX .. etc.

> 8. MultiColumnListView
> 9. PaginatedListView
I've not looked in much detail at these. They're only really required
if you to use the wizard, and automatic syncing, I'd say.
> 10. settings
Mainly around applying defaults for the wizard and setting the theme.
> 3. DisableWikiLinksPlugin
I think that's a matter of personal preference, and only applies to
TiddlyWiki format tiddlers. MediaWiki format tiddlers don't have
WikiLinks. I actually like WikiLinks!

I've also noticed issues with <!-- --> style comments.I'm sure Martin
and Nicolas would accept bug reports /fixes for their plugins.
I'll chat to Martin about my issues with my vertical, which
unfortunately contains copyrighted material, so I can't really share
it, yet.

I'm not sure I understand the issue. permalinks and permaviews work
fine for me with MediaWiki format tiddlers. Is that the problem?

They don't appear to have further dependencies, so why indeed not!

That's a little harsh given a number of us have been using it, but
yes. I think there are issues around synchronisation from Nicolas's
plugin which still need work. Hopefully Nicolas or someone else from
Globant can help investigate.
There are also known issues with some of the more advanced MediaWiki
wikitext features which I think Martin is aware of, but don't have
non-trivial solutions. I encountered problems with templates on a
number of Wikipedia pages.

That looks fairly hopeful!

Surprisingly we've not been using MediaWikiUnplugged on
TiddlyWiki.org. Martin warns that the dev namespace may be an issue
with tiddlywiki.org. I'll prod Martin and FND into taking a look!
I'd also like to import TiddlyWiki.org, and may help migrate from
MediaWiki to TiddlyWeb, which I'm guessing is an aspiration long term.
