Hi all

I am trying to update and save a TWC file on my local hard drive, but it suddenly won't save on either Firefox or Chrome in Windows 10, despite having Tiddler.jar in the same folder, and the TiddlyFox extension. It was working on April 6 when I made the most recent changes. Any ideas? It is the file at http://www.giffmex.org/bibliotecaSTRM.html That is, I make the changes locally and upload to that location.

Is there a secret back door to allow saving? I'm assuming you have the default set off for the one on the website.

I do the editing and saving locally, and the save button appears in the sidebar. I upload it by Filezilla

It's been a long time since I've used TWC. On the standard issue, there was a link on the left to save and a link to a backstage. You seem to have tiddlers locked down so they're uneditable and there's no download/save ability. I assume you have some setting in place?

If you've been following the discussions about saving then you might check if Firefox has automatically updated your tiddlyfox. And/or your FF has gone beyond v 52, which is where a lot of things seem to be breaking. That might explain FF. Not sure what would explain Chrome.

Good luck,
Mark

Hi Dave,

I saved your TW to my harddrive. You have 5607 tiddlers, collected over many years, I think  I saw a couple from 2007. Error in macro <<formTiddler>>, but it saves after clicking the cat icon in Firefox 53, Windows 7.

Oh my goodness what an idiot. I have been using the cat icon for TW5s and didn't even think to look to see if it worked for TWC. Duh.

David.

I don't think you are an idiot.

Several
other threads have been reflecting coping with changes in Firefox & other Browsers & having to re TiddlyFox & the other more complex solutions. It IS complex experientially.

IMO, this reflects troubles in the basic consumer end of the TiddlyWiki market. And it matters.

You are well experienced and know there will be a way to correct it. I pause for thought about beginners, now.

Thanks Josiah. And thanks to all those who offered suggestions. I think I just assumed that the cat icon playing on the blue and green balls was a fix for TW5 and it just didn't register that it was for everything
