I'm not sure if this is possible, but I was trying to get the dynnanotate plugin to work without manually typing the widget for every tiddler.

Normally to use the widget I just surround the text like this:

<$dynannotate target="text to highlight">
Paragraph of text.
</$dynannotate>

I was hoping to be able to apply this widget to every tiddler in my wiki, without having to manually type the widget text on every tiddler.

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks!

Si,

I don't know how it works but have you tried putting the widget tagged to appear in the view template? Perhaps replacing the text with {{!!text}}?

Thanks a lot!

A new viewtemplate tiddler would give two copies of the text, so instead I just added the widget to $:/core/ui/ViewTemplate/body. Hopefully this doesn't break anything...

I’ve added a new example to the Dynannotate plugin for v5.1.23 to show replacing the body view template:

Once enabled, it highlights search results within tiddlers, and allows annotations to be made. (Note that annotations are stored in separate tiddlers, and don’t require the tiddler being annotated to be modified).

Best wishes

Jeremy.
