Hi everyone,

Is someone already working on an fr-FR translation the way Mario did for de-DE?

If not, I should be able to propose a first pass as a pull request to Jeremy by Saturday night.

Regards,

Hi Xavier,

I can contribute to the french translation, but I didn't start working on it.

Hello Alberto,

Good to know. I'm about to send a pull request to Jeremy for a first pass on fr-FR. I'm curious to know what you'll think about it.

Santé !
Xavier.

Bonsoir Xavier

I've done the translation for the last TW Classic version.
I can work on the one for TW5 with you.
Once done, I'll also update the tiddlywiki.fr web site

Hello,

Jeremy merged it a few minutes ago, so you may want to look at it now. I see it's already behind as new translateable strings were introduced since yesterday :-)

I made one rather heavy choice in translating Story by Déroulé, which sounded more appropriate to me than Histoire. Also anything around the word tag is uneasy to handle. I chose to keep it untranslated in most parts but I felt I had to use étiquette in a few places.

Let me know if you think things need to be changed.

Thanks,
Xavier.

Super boulot, merci beaucoup !
(Sorry, I'm too lazy to discuss about a French translation in English ^^)

RecentChanges/DateFormat: DD MMM YYYY
-> MM seulement, plutôt ?

Un oubli dans le multi-tiddler search :

System/Caption: System
-> Système

Dans le multi-tiddler tiddlerinfo :
Tagging/Caption: Étiquète
-> Étiquette (peut-être ailleurs aussi qui m'aurait échappé)

Je pense qu'on verra ensuite à l'usage s'il y a des améliorations à apporter, mais c'est déjà un super début, merci d'y avoir consacré du temps :)

Merci Julie,

I've committed most of your remarks (and requested a pull). I kept the MMM format for month since "month abbreviated" was Jeremy's choice. I also kept amorçage, but I agree this may deserves debate. To me boot is a very early process that is conceptually different from launch or start. But if démarrage gets more votes, I'm ready to give up :-)

Étiquète was actually the verb not the noun, but I agree it was a poor attempt to translate the idea of tagging. So I've change to Étiquetage for now.

Santé !
Xavier.

Hello ocalTW,

I had a chance to look at tiddlywiki.fr: impressed by your work on translation! I see that you met the same issues with difficult terms. For instance, seeing that you translated save by enregistrer made me think that we could do that on TW5 too and then use sauvegarde for backup. In any case, I would appreciate your feedback once 5.0.8 is released.

Santé !
Xavier Cazin.
