I have tiddlers each associated to an article I'm writing.

They all have a tag 'ContentItem'.

They have a tag representing the status: 'PhaseSetup', 'PhaseFreeWriting', 'PhaseOutline', etc.

They start with 'PhaseSetup'. Then they move on to the other statuses.

If no article is in 'PhaseSetup' status — hopefully they all end up in 'PhasePublished' status — when I create a new article I have to recreate the tag 'PhaseSetup' again (and change its color).

How do I prevent tags from being deleted when there are no tiddlers left with that tag?

Do I have to create some hidden tiddler that has that tag? I don't want these hidden tiddlers to show up in lists.

Hi Emanuele,
Simply create tiddlers titled with PhaseSetup, PhasePublished, etc
Open them and add a color field with desired colors!

Now use these as tag whenever you like!

No worry they will remain unchanged until you DELETE them yourself.

As far as I know, yes. You can have one single tiddler tagged with all of your tags.

No problem. Just title the tiddler with an initial $:/ prefix, e.g "$:/StatusTags

Also With system tiddlers that may appear in your lists you can always excluded them by starting your filter with

[!is[system]....

That's the intended way to do it. ...

Especially since you can create simple overviews within those "tag-tiddlers" eg:
