I'm very happy to announce the release of Cardo 1.0.4

A Task and Project Management Wiki for Getting Stuff Done

Cardo comes from a combination of "Card" and "Do". This was the name given to the main north-south roads in ancient Roman cities, used as a guide for easy navigation. It also aptly describes the UI of the tool.

Cardo has many features for task and project management, including:

  • Projects, Teams, and RACI charts
  • Progress & Status Updates
  • Tasks, Delegation Tracking & Reminders
  • Contexts, Areas & Realms
  • Meetings & Agenda Items
  • References & Notes
  • Contacts & Conversations
  • Book Library & Reading Notes
  • Goals (with a very Tony Robbins feel)

They are tightly interlinked to allow extremely complex tracking, presented in very elegant dashboards.

Get Cardo at http://cardo.wiki

Cardo comes in either a standalone "empty" TiddlyWiki file, or you can add Cardo to your existing TiddlyWiki by importing a .json file of plugins.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of Cardo, either through testing and bug reports, feature suggestions, or kind words of encouragement! A special thanks to Jeremy for this fantastic platform we all love hacking on. Keep up the great work.

  •     1.0.4 (7 Jan 2019):
    • Added: Goals - with a very Tony Robbins feel
    • Fixed: IE11 compatibility (issue with guid.js)
    • Fixed: Reminder wording better reflects goals, tasks and projects
    • Fixed: Alignment of Tiddler buttons in Cardo theme
    • Added: Start date (cardo-start) to Projects and Tasks
    • Changed: Moved "Recurring"/"Reminder" checkboxes for cleaner layout
    • Fixed: New Conversation from sidebar was tagged wrong
    • Fixed: New items are set with the Focus currently set in the sidebar (unless Focus is set to "All")
      • (This fixes a number of bugs where items don't appear due to sidebar being un-set, as well as allows new items to have a default so they should never be un-set)

Hi, David.  I like Cardo a lot.  I am currently using Nozbe, kind of fitfully, but I like the idea of keeping my own data to myself.  It's more important to maintain one's secrets privately than to actually have secrets, I always say.

However, I have a couple of questions.

First, I'm working with the latest Cardo, which I think is 1.0.1 on a MacBook with Chrome  57.0.2987.133.  I don't know if this is the most recent Chrome.

Second, when I look at the Book Library tiddler under Currently Reading, instead of a + sign in a box I get a box with some xml-ish code which reads "+<$action-sendmessage $message="tm-new-tiddler" ...>", where there is more where ... stands.  The same is true for Not Yet Read.  Presumably there is a syntax error someplace.

Last, is it possible to add to the set of book categories through the browser interface?  I could go search through the Javascript code, though I'm hardly a JS expert, but I was hoping there was some way to customize this without actually working very hard.  In a past job, when we found bugs in the Gnu C compiler my boss would say "What do you expect for free?"  I know you are working on this gratis, and I'm not trying to rush you.  If I get annoyed enough I will figure out what's wrong and fix it myself.  If I do I'll be sure to send it back to you.  Is there a github repository?

Thanks again for all your work on this, and my sympathies for your loss.

Hi Bill,

I can't replicate the bug you're seeing, two things to check please:
1. Do you see it in Firefox as well?
2. Do any other Tiddlers show an incorrect + button? (I'm looking for a commonality...)

For additional genres, just create a Tiddler with the title being the name of your genre, and tag it "genre".
To delete existing genres, they are shadow Tiddlers, so edit them and remove the tag "genre".

All the best,
David.

I am not sure whether I am saving Cardo correctly. I have opened it and saved it to my desktop. I have then made changes and I think I have saved them as I clicked on a tick box but when I exit I get a warning about changes may not be saved. After I have exited and try to reload Cardo I get an unformated text document. I am using Win 10 and FF 53.0.3

Cheers Iain

Hi all,

I've uploaded 1.0.4 to the main site ( http://cardo.wiki ) as a fresh TW download, or a JSON file for importing, as usual. Thanks very much for reporting the bugs, and for your patience as I've been slow to respond the last year!

Please keep the bug reports coming, if you find any!

Cheers,
David.
