Hi folks,

I need a pageviewer or at least a tiddler view counter. Would you tell me how to do?
Is there any chance to do it on TW5 instead of using it on tiddlyspace?

Maybe if you could define what a "view" is…

a pageview is when an IP looks over the site, a tiddler-view is when a
specific tiddler is seen. I wish to know how many my TW was accessed
and if possible counted for each tiddler-view.

For this you'd need some server side scripts. With those, it should be possible to have a "pageview". But you already have that in your server logs. No additional feature in TW required.

A tiddler view would require the tiddlers to send back data to your server. Should be possible, but for sure requires some server side scripts.

OK, I don't know if I could see the logs in my web-server. TW5 will be
hosted in my domain. I would use a third-party script and try to put
the code into TW to get a pageview counter.

For tiddler-view count, wouldn't it be possible to have it in
TiddlySpace instead of TW5? Yet it will all be hosted in the space. I
don't know if it's appropriate to ask about here.

Thanks.

I have no idea about tiddlyspace, but are you sure you want a counter? ;)

thanks for referring. I am not on the marketing side. I still need a
counter and perhaps a feedjit counter or similar is best suited as put
in my previous TW classic blog.

My blog (or my writings) would be targetted to specific clients when I
am attending a conference or so. And I would use the counter as an
indication to how many people that might have attended my class. And
further as example in a way to explaining to asian people where they
liked so much to get a hit.

I just downloaded a fresh TW5.05b and practically new to the design.
Once I could take control of this TW5, I will host it to replace old
site and later on brought for explaining.

Hi Handoko,

I think for tracking your page views you could use piwik [1]. For TiddlySpace there is a piwik space [2], that you can include into your space. Carefully read the docs. It doesn't provide the server side piwik backend. If you have your own server you probably can run your own piwik. IMO it's as simple as running Wordpress.

It [2] contains some custom code, that allows you to track specific tiddler views. Since TW works different to "normal" sites some custom code is needed.

It will be similar for TW5. So imo tracking code should be part of a plugin, since there are several possibilities to record visitors and views.
