Hello everyone!

I'm trying out Timmini using Oprah on a Ubantu operating system.  The wiki appears to save, but then I get an error message: "Fail save, failure to contact the Timmini host."  Near as I can tell, I have Timmini configured correctly.  Does anyone have a suggestion.

Did you have any errors installing https://github.com/ibnishak/Timimi/releases
Have you checked that it installed all right?

I tried removing and reinstalling Timmini.  I paid close attention to the instructions, and I did not get any error messages; although, I am a newby to Linux systems, so I'm not sure I know what to look for.  I found the documentation for Timmini somewhat scattered and difficult to understand, so I cannot guarantee that Timmini was installed correctly.  I did not see any errors, and I got the same result.

Open your file manager and set it to show hidden files. You should look for /home/user/.config/google-chrome/NativeMessagingHosts.config/ There you should see timimi.json
At least that is how it looks on my computer.
I am not using Opera, but I think the installation guide write, that it uses the one for Chrome.

As Birthe pointed out, the easiest way to ensure correct installation is verify existence of relevant files. Please open your terminal and run the following commands

cat $HOME/.config/google-chrome/NativeMessagingHosts/timimi.json
ls $HOME/.local/share/timimi/

Mervin,

Just for clarity, Timimi installs component in the browser that communicates with the Wiki, and a component on the host computer that Timimi sends save requests to. It is a two step install, but then, you can forget about it and it looks like you have native tiddlywiki support.

I just mention it because I have heard others miss this fact.

Tony
