I just created an issue to have chrome provide an option to overwrite existing files on download...

Not sure if +1'ing on the latter is desired.
For now, I'd encourage you to do so.

Summary:

Please provide a setting to prevent automagic filename "correction" when a download would overwrite an existing file. Chances are that I actually want that, by default. At least have it some flag if it's not settings-worthy.

Best wishes,

Hi Tobias,

A few days ago I saw a Chrome addon: Downloads Overwrite Existing Files.
Are you aware of it?
I did not test it; I mainly use Firefox + TiddlyFox.

Cheers,

Ton

I believe, I was the one pointing someone else to it. ;-)

However, this extension does not work with Chrome / TiddlyWiki,
as chrome appears to have a bug when it comes to
download links of the kind TiddlyWiki produces.

For that problem, I have opened another issue. :D

Issue 542559: BUG: <a download="foo"/> forgets download directory

Best wishes,
