I have a

<<list-links filter:"[prefix[Hack]]">>

it returns this

the 5.0.14-beta tiddlers is really "Hackability Improvements in Release 5.0.14-beta"

it seems like the first bit of the tiddler has been removed and a pretty link have been created to "Hackability Improvements in Release 5.0.14-beta" from "Release 5.0.14-beta"

attached is a MTC from and empty from TW.com

Solved!

The issue is caused by the caption field!

the list macro returns the caption field value if the tiddler has that field

Is this accident or design?

Although the filter matches on the tiddler's title, the macro output uses the tiddler's *caption* field.

"Hackability Improvements in Release 5.0.14-beta" has a caption of "5.0.14-beta".

Yes, I understand this, but is there a reason for this?

Hi Alex

Yes, I understand this, but is there a reason for this?

The caption field is used as an alternative, human-readable title by the table of contents macros and the list macros. The motivation is typically to be able to phrase the title differently for display.

Best wishes

Jeremy.
