Hi all,
First post here - hope this is okay:

Tonight I've downloaded an empty version of Stroll from the link below, following the tutorial.

Using this template, when creating a new tiddler it is not possible to hit the TAB key a few times and arrive at the body text entry area. In base TW5 this is done is three or four keystrokes.

In Stroll, the TAB key moves you to the Tags area, as it should, but then skips straight over the part where you actually write the tiddler body and goes directly to the fields at the bottom.

Is there a way to change this? It's very inconvenient for me to have to switch to using the mouse just to get to the main field.

Thank you.

OS: Windows 10
Browser: Firefox 88.0
TW5: Stroll (downloaded today from https://giffmex.org/stroll/empty.html )

Hi g,

The editor-autolist plugin uses the tab key for advancing to the next line. So I imagine that is what is interfering with your normal use of the tab key.

So if you don't plan to use the editor-autolist plugin, you could delete it. Or if you intend to use it, you could assign a different keystroke to it so you get your tab key back for navigating the edit template.

Thank you. I've now tried this with no success.

Steps taken:
Downloaded brand new empty copy of stroll
Navigated to Control Panel > Plugins
Opened autolist plugin as a separate tiddler.
Navigated to More > Delete
Deleted plugin
Saved new html file, deleted old one, opened new one.

Hi girrodocus,

I tried a bunch of stuff, and it still doesn't work. So apparently editor-autolist is not the problem. Hopefully someone else here can figure out what is going on. Sorry!

Thanks a lot for trying David - I'm very grateful.

The tabIndex for the text field editor is not being set.
The problem might be the custom EditTemplate that Stroll uses.

Hi Saq and girrodocus,

I just tried deleting various Stroll edit tiddlers, and after each, I tried hitting tab in edit mode. Jumps from title to tags to type, skipping text. Not seeing where the problem is.

The problem is the outdated version of the edit-comptext plugin.

In general this is a problem we have with TW, where we have to distribute third party plugins in editions instead of having a dependency management system that pulls in newer versions as appropriate.

Hi all,

First post here in the TW google group and i was excited to find that someone else is having the same problem i am. That said, it doesn't look like there was a resolution...? Did anyone figure out how to use the "tab" key to navigate from the title field to the tags field and then to the text field? Mine also keeps skipping the text field, which is very frustrating.

Cheers,
Ethan
