My class starts then so I won't be able to make it to this one unless it goes on for more than about 2.5 hours. I don't have anything new that I can think of other than the pet diary. So I wouldn't have anything to show off.

Given your comment on this discussion
my plan for TiddlyDesktop is to migrate to a different approach: making a desktop application that acts as a HTTP server that you can then access via 127.0.0.1 from the browser of your choice.

Can you give us a quick update on the future of TiddlyDesktop?

Thanks,
Matt Lauber

Sorry about the quality of the streaming from my end. That's why I don't normally attend these hangouts live. It's a long way between Auckland, NZ and where most of you are. Internet connectivity down here has never been all that great. We have massive restrictions on upload speeds, but download isn't as bad, so watching these videos after-the-fact is not so bad at my end.

I really wanted to point out what my {{DesignWrite}} collaborative partner (co-conspirator) Andrew Myers (the AM you saw in Trello) has done, in creating a new hybrid GitHub/Dropbox method of hosting a TiddlyWiki. He's currently making a tutorial video for it, as I still have no idea how he's done it! Apparently it uses something called GitKraken. We intend to share this back to the {{DesignWrite}} community and ultimately to the wider TiddlyWiki community.

Hi

Perhaps there is a need to provide options for 'empty.html' -- for example:
-- 'minimal' with only essential features to operate (strip out unnecessary stuff) -- suitable for normal users as a blank wiki
-- 'starter' including features for new users (includes features such as the edit toolbar and even the reference documentation)
-- perhaps checkboxes to include a selection of other plugins in 'minimal'

Or, if there are issues with names -- stick with 'empty.html' as the starter edition for new users, and introduce a new 'blank.html' edition

'Blank.html'
-- strip out all unnecessary features -- things like $edit-bitmap and 'showpreview' in the edit template (neither of which I use)
-- list of checkboxes to include a selection of plugins in the download

regards
