Coming soon.. analog. No, just kidding.

Well at the time I was kidding but actually, try this.....

(This uses canvas to draw the clock. IE does not support canvas so Firefox only. Safari probably okay but I haven't tried it, Opera, not sure).

Simon.

Does not work properly in Opera (shows two script errors) and then
clocks are defined properly.

Now features a 'noSeconds' option for CPU challenged folk.

Simon.

ps, can any safari users confirm the clock works?

Sorry to keep going on about my silly clock macro but here's another
super cool new feature, you can now specify a custom skin as a
<<clock2 >> macro param. Now you can tweak your clock's appearance
without reloading your page!!!

See example at:

Hi Simon,

Clock2 works fine in Safari. Very nice work !

I only get on error in TiddlerListMacro
"Error in systemConfig tiddler 'TiddlerListMacro' - ReferenceError - Can't find variable: gCurrentTiddler"
But dispite this error mptw loads.

Cheers,

Sorry for the hijack Simon...

I've been stealing time <g> from www.etn.nl - they have a nice analog
clock that runs in a SWF. You can embed it (as I do) in the top-left
of your MainMenu tiddler quite nicely using the following snippet...

<html>
<EMBED src="http://www.etn.nl/clock_analog.swf" quality=high
bgcolor="#f0f0f0" WIDTH="100" HEIGHT="100" ALIGN=""
TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash"
PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></EMBED>
</html>

It's nowhere near as perdy as Simon's timepiece but it's much less
code to add for those with larger TWs who may be concerned about file
size.

No problem.. :) Flash clocks are cool. I went looking for a flash
clocks a month ago. I never found one that was exactly like I wanted
and I found it annoying that you couldn't tweak them (unless you have
flash creation tools which I didn't). So that's part of my motivation.

Here's a pretty good collection:

Ps, I made my clock available for non-tiddlywiki use, see here:

Embedd it in tiddlywiki like this:

<html>
<iframe style="background-color:transparent; border-color:#ffffff;
border:none;" width="120" height="120" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"

Sorry about the double posting in this old subject. Just one more link
and code:

http://www.freewebs.com/christer7/clock7.xhtml

-----in Mainmenu --------------

<html>
<iframe style="background-color:transparent; border-color:#ffffff;

border:none;" width="140" height="140" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"
src="clock7.xhtml" title="clock"></iframe>
</html>

That's nice! I might borrow your shiny glass effect for a future
version of Clock2 plugin.

Simon.

Ps, IE users still following this thread, I discovered that clock can
now (sort of) work in IE. You have to include the ExplorerCanvas which
is some javascript written for IE by some guys at google that emulates
the canvas object in and IE browser. See
http://simonbaird.com/coolclock/ for details. I've not tried it in a
TW but you could probably add the <script src="excancas.js "...> into
your MarkupPostHead tiddler and then it would work.
