Using TiddlyWiki as an alternative to bibliography software like Zotero or Mendeley?

This is a fairly open question - I'm just interested in people's thoughts.

I was thinking of using TW as an alternative to bibliography software like Zotero or Mendeley, since I already use it to track a lot of my reading anyway.

I wonder what the disadvantages might be? The main thing that I can think of is that it can't scrape all the metadata from webpages like dedicated tools can.

Beyond this it seems like it work well. You could just tag tiddlers with the relevant project, essay etc and then export them to json (which could easily be converted to bibtex).

Does anyone use TW for this purpose? What do you see as the advantages/disadvantages? Are there any useful tips, plugins etc that you would recommend?
