Hi all

Late last year and early this year I created the TiddlyWiki toolmap (https://dynalist.io/d/zUP-nIWu2FFoXH-oM7L7d9DM), a topically sorted list of TiddlyWiki plugins, macros, example sites and other goodies on Dynalist. It was a labor of love, and serves as an interim solution for the TiddlyWiki community to find resources, while we wait for a more official plugin library.

Based on a discussion in a recent thread, I am offering to authorize up to three volunteers to be able to edit that portion of my Dynalist account. This will allow it to grow more rapidly and meet more needs.

They should be people who are on this forum regularly, who could spot new items and add them.
They should be people who can write the entries in concise, non-technical language, and people who are fairly good at categorizing / cataloguing.
They should preferably be people who have been around this forum and the TW community for at least a year or more.

I have copied and pasted the current Dynalist entries to a separate section of my Dynalist account, and will manage that for my needs. But I will be glad to continue to add to the public toolmap, too, when people email me with submissions.

If the volunteers decide together to add, combine or rename categories, I will not object. I will leave it to them to organize it as they see fit. If they write in ALL CAPS, however, I may have something to say about that. :-) you know who you are! :-)

If you are interested, please email me at dgif...@crcna.org.

Blessings,

Dave

David,
As I understand, for non-active people, it seems it  is possible to contribute. They can send you their submission!
Am I right?

Question: Does TW toolmap only keep track of new wiki (solution) or can also have short tutorial?

Hi Mohammed

Yes, anyone can email me their submissions. The post was looking for those who want to help curate it, especially since I don't always spot things on the Google Group that should be added.

The toolmap has a section for general reference and tutorials. So yes, if there are submissions of tutorials, I can add them there, too.

David,
I have an archive of some solutions proposed by people in Google group. I normally implement them in a personal wiki! To send them to you what format is suitable for you
  • A bundle of tiddlers like json?
  • A set of static html pages?
  • or you mean one needs to develop his/her tutorial in an online wiki (e.g. on tiddlyspot.com) and send you the link?
I could not find the section on tutorial in toolmap? Do you mean the section called "General references and tutorial" which contains links to other wikis?

Hi Mohammad (sorry I misspelled your name in the last email), Yes, the General reference and tutorials section is the one I meant.

The toolmap is a map of links, not files. So I would prefer to link to something you put online. If your personal wiki has personal stuff, you could create an empty file and transfer the non-personal tutorial tiddlers there and upload that, and just transfer tiddlers and upload each time you have a new tutorial.

    Dear Dave

I promise NOT to SHOUT on your stuff.

I have a few comments (I also read the other thread where mr JR commented)...

1 -- I do not think its a good idea to fork that list into a private version and another version. Better keep it as one. Far better you remain Master till other routes get properly moving.

2 -- My guess is you need most a few "watchful eyes" to notify on new things.

FWIW my own feeling is, longer term, to take your incredible work on actually listing so much (its the most comprehensive ever done) and use it to help generate a TW based system that is more sharable.

I know from previous correspondence we had that the OPML export is potentially something that a good programmer could digest into a TW.

From my point of view a TW clone of your Dynalist could be very good. Dynalist layout is excellent for its job.

    Just thoughts
    Josiah

Haha Josiah, I couldn't resist the all caps joke! But you didn't specify whether you would like to be an editor. Would you like to do that?

I am not retiring or backing off from helping with the official version, which will stay where it is. Nothing has changed in that regard. I merely copied that data and created a personal version just in case the editors make significant changes to my categories. My personal version will be for me and with my way of categorizing. Also, I don't plan to attempt to keep mine current. I will basically add stuff I think I might use. The official version will continue to be the main thing, even for me.

Doing it in Dynalist was easier for copying, pasting and reordering during the initial process. Now that the toolmap only has small edits, Dynalist isn't so necessary. But since it is already in place, changing the format isn't so necessary, either. Set me up a collaborative TW and add the present material, and I will be happy to put the Dynalist version to pasture!

    Blessings, Dave
