Hi all,

I have decided to remove TW5 mall and TiddlyQuickly from my site because they contain outdated information, and I don't have the time or energy to maintain them since the changes to my responsibilities since last September. I am getting emails regularly with questions about TiddlyWiki that are only questions because the CSS or filters have since changed. So I have removed the files to avoid unnecessary confusion for others and unnecessary work for myself.

Will someone please remove the dead links in tiddlywiki.com to these pages? At one point I started getting mildly conversant with GitHub, but to try to do it now would mean figuring out how to update my GitHub branch or fork or whatever it is called. And I have to let that go and focus on other things.

Still using TiddlyWiki daily, and even tinker from time to time. And I check this group once or twice a week to see what is new. But I just don't have the time or energy to be an active member of the community at this point in time.

Blessings,

Dave

Hi Dave

It's a shame you're not able to participate as much these days, but I'm glad to hear you're still using TW, and I'm sure we'll be welcoming you back at some stage in the future.

In terms of the out of date material on TW5 and TiddlyQuickly, I wonder if there might be volunteer from the group to update them for you? Many of the changes are most likely quite simple and repetitive. That way the existing links won't be broken, which would make a better experience for newcomers.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,

I think there is only one link on tiddlywiki.com to TW5 mall, and none, if memory serves correctly, to TiddlyQuickly. So it wouldn't take much to remove it/them. Tobias has incorporated much if not all of the helpful information from TW5 Mall on his wonderful tb5 TW, so the information would still be out there in updated form. TW5 mall was helpful at a certain moment, but things have moved on. If anyone wants the file to update it then host it, I am quite happy to let them take it over.

Hi David Gifford,
Thank you so much for all your work!
It was an important work because you did it, when everything was constantly changing and we did not have lots of examples to look at or all the wonderful plugins that we have now.
Your TW5mall and later NotesTormTw made it a lot easier for others to get started.

I know you brought me to the point of no return ;-). Thank you.

I'd second those words, you've become part of TiddlyWorld. From here in rainy Manchester UK, GiffordLand seems so exotic and far away!!!

Hi Dave,

Perhaps you could attach the most recent copy of TW Mall here,
and I'll take another look if tb5 has all topics covered.

TW Mall was indeed the starting point
for me to catch up with TiddlyWiki 5... and extend on it.
So, thank you from my side as well!

As we know from your site and examples, you've so much actual content to deliver
that I can imagine that tutorial-type documentation actually is a big plate to carry.

Quick question: Did you get another chance to play with xlist for your "compendium"?
You could send me a copy if you want, so I could take a look and
send it back to you with some tips on how to use / implement those listings.

Best wishes, Tobias.

Hello Dave,

As many people said, your TW were very inspiring when no other documentation or examples were available. Thank you very much for all those documentation and efforts, they helped many people, including me.

Aw shucks, thanks, Tobias and Danielo, needless to say I have been inspired by your respective examples and how to's, too!
