I explored a bit further on what I could do with tiddlywiki960. I
completely chucked out the tw interface including its header, main
menu, the display area and the sidebar and put it in a hidden div
which can be shown by clicking a button. The space which is left
behind can be filled with an Alternative Face for the TW document
which is defined in the tiddler [[Alternative Face]]. The styling of
the same is put in [[AlternativeStyleSheet]].

Here is the link: http://www.box.net/shared/4yzjeuqdec

I really dont know if this is of any worth. The idea struck me and I
did it.

The toggle button is on the top left.

shavinder,

that is indeed an interesting concept! I actually like it.
I do have a question though...you know how some the titles in boxes
are linked to tiddlers...in the original 960?
How would one view those tiddlers without having to open the TW
interface? just a curious question;
or can that be worked out?

Hi Shavinder

Nice work :-)

Please interface with Michael Mahemoff on the devgroup
http://groups.google.com/group/tiddlywikidev/browse_thread/thread/53f7c8120a3c3887?hl=enec0a7e92b1a74a2
I'm sure you could exchange views on how to accomplish things - it
seems to me that you are working in some of the same directions..

When I open the alternative interface (standard TW) the 960 is still
clearly visible in the background - it would be great if the standard
interface could be opened in a lightbox kind of fashion - you know -
blurring the background..
Mahemoff uses what he calls an overlay mechanism and toggles between
standard view and something completely different:
http://trail.scrumptious.tv/TrailPlayer.html
and a very sophisticated version here http://trail.scrumptious.tv/podcasting/

Good job! Thanks for sharing.

Hi shavinder

Happy to see you're experimenting with what you can do with it. You've
certainly shown a very different approach with toggling the main TW
area as an overlay over the main page. Also liked you experimenting
with the styling to let the text stand on its own without the
grayboxing. The grayboxes are useful for prototyping or demonstrating,
but a typical site would probably do something more like you did.

Keep tinkering. The semester has begun and I don't have much time to
right now. I'll be curious to see where it goes.

As far as I know a tiddler is opened in the tiddler display area which
is now hidden in a separate div. Therefore all the href links can only
be made work like they do in a regular webpage. In this case local
links can probably be made to work. I had local links in mind while
putting in the top navigation bar.

But at this moment, this alternative face is not *alive* as the
original TW face :-)
