Is there any part in TW that trys to phone home when started localy? I
find my companies Proxy login to be called every time I start my tw.??

No, there isn't any phoning home going on, at least not from the core
TiddlyWiki code. Conceivably you're using a plugin that needs to do
that; you could test that by starting your TiddlyWiki with
"#start:safe" (without the quotes) jammed onto the end of it's URL.

Alternatively, perhaps what you're seeing is a quirk of your browser?
Do you get the same behaviour when you access other simpler locally
stored HTML files?

Finally, perhaps it's as simple as you've got some references to
images that are stored on the internet, and what you're seeing is the
browser attempting to retrieve them.

If you're using Firefox, there's a few extentions that can tell you what it's trying to fetch.  I'm guessing it's a background image or something like that.

I use one called Tamper Data which, once you turn it on, shows you every request your browser makes before it is sent (and gives you the chance to tamper with it, like changing the referrer and whatnot).

So, something like Tamper Data would let you know for sure what your browser is trying to get.  I think we would all be interested to know too :)
