How to establish external link to get node icon in TiddlyMap (some hack or?)

I want to map a lot of photos and present them as nodes in TiddlyMap (and tiddlers as well), but to link them from an external directory. The problem is that I can not get the icon of the external photo as icon of the node (external link). I tried to embed it through "field name-icon" and various "field values", but I can not to establish the link to the external image that I want to use as the node icon. I don't want to import images in html, just to link them from external folder.

How would I implement this functionality to link external images as icon of a node? Is there a hack or something, advanced customisation (I'm new in TW philosophy)?

Thanks in advance!

Gordan

Hi Gordan,

glad to hear you give TiddlyMap a try :)

Maybe this discussion helps:

Best wishes

Thnx, Felix!
I've just found that solution today (creating a new tiddler + _canonical_url) you are talking about, and I'm satisfied with the workaround. I wish that could be performed directly from node-tiddler, but this is also OK.
Thanks again, and greetings from Croatia/EU!
Gordan

P.S. I am delighted with the concept and philosophy of TiddlerWiki, it offers so many creative and integrative possibilities that I'm completely overwhelmed by ideas. It is a totally quantum leap in approach, organization and way of thinking for me...
