Using an older FireFox browser version *IS* a viable work-around for
the current TWClassic file I/O problems. However, this is only one
possible *suggested* alternative to installing TiddlyFox (which
*fixes* the problems for most use-cases). In addition, the very next
bullet item says:
--------------------
You could also install a portable version of FireFox 3.6.x directly
onto a USB stick, solely for use with TiddlyWiki documents, while
still using the current version of FireFox for all your other web
browsing activities.
--------------------
Thus, it is possible to use an older version of FireFox, while having
*NO* impact on other browsing activities.

In my PCs I have frozen my firefox to version 11.0, until they will
remove this silly bug or provide a plugin to sove the problem. This was
the best advice that I received by a friend time ago, and I'm enjoying a
full and nice "user experience".

I think this is really bad advice, up-to-date browsers is most important for security and recommending old browsers stifles a user's entire web experience.

The security improvements made in recent years are exactly the reason why modern browsers have problems with TW "classic", and sticking to older browser versions for that purpose only doesn't present any security risk.

I have thousands of hours invested in my "old TW" collection, and simply couldn't use them without my trusty FF v3.6 portable, or at least not without investing more time than I'm willing to to figure out the latest and greatest workarounds - I have no interest in server-side solutions at this point.

That simple solution is really IMO the only way TW classic can be an end-user tool for storing/managing/presenting content -  at least for average end-user types - otherwise it becomes a tool for programmers only, or for those with plenty of time on their hands to play with all the different alternatives.

Looking forward to the day I can once again use my wiki with the newest browsers.

I doubt if anyone would disagree with that 8-)
