These are very simple, easy to understand code to show a list of tiddlers or slices (parts) of contents one by one in sequence. Two of them support KeeBoord shortcut keys.
Now you can simply use them in
  • slideshow and presentation
  • wizards and tutorials
  • incremental display
  • image gallery

Examples and documentation are provided for interested people. The code is checked in Chrome and TiddlyDesktop and should work in other browsers.

A very good integrative work!

Note on Firefox 52 ESR that Example 3 the right click reveals correctly BUT the page does not auto-scroll to show you the images once they are off screen. Something that is maybe difficult to solve, but I think its an issue.

Hello Josiah,
Well you are right! But as it is part of tiddler(a section inside a tiddler) it is difficult to keep that in focus!

Ciao Mohammad

Right. It IS difficult. This is one area where TW gets complicated because in-Tiddler jumps are not easy.

I was looking at whether on the Example 3 version one might have a jump to "the end of it" on each step. Just a thought.

Anyway I think what you are doing is really useful.

Maohammad,

A Truly beautiful solution and very well presented.

My only critisisum is the case where we must press previous to start, that is highly non-intuitive. Perhaps there could be a home button, that starts and restarts  the steps?

Also today I awoke with with a great idea (that research this morning suggests is valid) that makes revealing content within a tiddler easier. As I understand it you were looking to do this earlier?
This idea I have stems from a desire to have simple condition tests in WikiText, including the [in this] CASE structure. All it would need is a field or state tiddler and possibly a variable to change so I assume revealgradulay could do that?

Revealgradually works superbly on sets of tiddlers, of different types.

You have refined and matured this solution so well, please forgive me if I sound like I want more, I just mean to support you in maturing it even more.

One last Question, What do people mean by Wizards in TiddlyWiki? I have never quite worked that out.

Regards
Tony

In this new version, this issue has been solved, when you start and click on the 'Next' Button the first tiddler is displayed!

Also today I awoke with with a great idea (that research this morning suggests is valid) that makes revealing content within a tiddler easier. As I understand it you were looking to do this earlier?
Yes, actually the work started when I wanted to have slideshow for lecture and speech using TW.

That's correct!

Revealgradually works superbly on sets of tiddlers, of different types.
It works with tag, but can be modified to work with any field. I suggest this can be included in the TW itself like a Slide mechanism, if so, then it can have inherent shortcuts.

You have refined and matured this solution so well, please forgive me if I sound like I want more, I just mean to support you in maturing it even more.
No problem, your suggestions are always welcome!

One last Question, What do people mean by Wizards in TiddlyWiki? I have never quite worked that out.
By wizard, it means a series of steps,  guided  steps. Look at here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizard_(software)
A software wizard or setup assistant is a user interface type that presents a user with a sequence of dialog boxes that lead the user through a series of well-defined steps. Tasks that are complex, infrequently performed, or unfamiliar may be easier to perform using a wizard.

Mohammad,

Thanks for that. I have being keen to use TiddlyWiki for building sophisticated "Workflow instructions" that resemble this wizard concept so a few of my design efforts have kept this in mind.

However because TiddlyWiki is so capable I want to be able to replicate (only whats necessary) and customise a work Instruction each time it is followed, so it has continuous improvement built in, as well as allowing you to record all the details of each "instance" of it use allowing reporting and strategic improvements.

Thanks for inspiring us and developing the tool so professionally.

Marvellous Mohammad

Some constructive advice,

You often say in your documentation something like

Change the order of tiddlers

Here using the list filed of Master tiddler the order of tiddlers to be displayed

Eg at http://revealgradually.tiddlyspot.com/#Example%2003

What I suggest instead is do this

Change the order of tiddlers

Use the tag Pill for any tag to open or change the order if its items with drag and drop
eg {{Master||$:/core/ui/TagTemplate}}

Also unfortunately you have a persistent spelling mistake where ever you go I think you are aware of. You have all the letters but put them in the wrong order.

field - specialised computing a division of a database (= a collection of similar information on a computer) that contains a particular type of information, such as names or numbers
        - + an Area of land

If you need a mnemonic to help you remember think of a field of corn, with fences to keep the Cows Out - Notice how in
field

Status of a properly stored document or record.

Read more: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/filed.html
the F is one fence around the "ie" and ld are tall letters together providing a fence on the other side.

Where filed as has a fence running down the middle as well, that is a wast of fence, so it not a field
filed
filed also begins with file - its a file not a field.

PS Don't be Shy, I suffer my own persistent errors too.

Tony

Hello Tony!
Many thanks for your comments! I will revise and correct for spelling errors :-)

By the way please use the new home of Reveal Gradually at:

The new release of  Reveal Gradually contains several codes and has got a new home at

Do you mean to put the above code and locally change the order through tag-pill?

Mohammad,

The text I provided with the tagpill method would be easier to use. And changing the order of items in a list field harder for others to do.

A personal preference try it and see what you think about ease of use.
