So an Internal Javascript Error apeared while I was editing my wiki and I saved all the things I did then closed the tab.

The problem is when I opened the file I saved and put in the password, at the top it says "A web page is slowing down your browser. What would you like to do?" and then in a second my wiki shows up with the Javascript error and then in a split second, it goes back to entering the password. It could go on and on. Can it still be fixed though?

Jin,

Since we are not sure what broke this is a big subject but we can often recover a wiki the two top methods are
  • Use safe mode
  • Single file wikis
    • You can edit the HTML File with an editor and delete offending code
  • Server installs you may be able to edit an offending tiddler on the file system
If your wiki is not confidential share it here if you want or with one individual who may be able to fix it.

Of course more information would help platform, OS, browser, What you last did key plugins etc...

Where are your backups? they are quite easy to automate in tiddlywiki.

Regards

I doubt this will be of much help.  What the heck ...

The only time I've ever had internal Javascript Errors (since I started using TiddlyWiki a few years ago) happened with Internet Explorer.  If you are using Internet Explorer, try seeing if you still have problems with your TiddlyWiki instance when accessed via some other web browser?

If the TW file contents are still intact, you could try importing all your tiddlers into a fresh, empty TiddlyWiki:

2) From your local desktop, drap-and-drop the errant TiddlyWiki file into the open empty file.
3) If the file is readable, you should see the $:/Import tiddler appear with a table of tiddlers.
4) Click the "select" checkbox in the table header to select all tiddlers.
5) Take note of any plugins that are selected, and de-select them so they will *not* be imported.
6) Press the "import" button to import the selected tiddlers
7) You should then be able to view the imported tiddlers and save the document locally (using the default download saver)
8) Once this is done, open the new locally-saved copy.
9) You can then proceed to restore any plugins you skipped in step #5 by re-importing those plugins *one at a time*, saving and reloading after each import.
10) Be sure to save to a separate file each time, so that if importing a plugin causes the original problem to re-appear, you can revert to the previous saved file.

Hopefully, this will allow you "rescue" your tiddler content, even if it doesn't restore full functionality.

good luck!

Many thanks guys,

I tried Mr. Eric's reply and it worked! I can retrieve some tiddlers and just transfer it onto another. Thanks again!
