I'm having trouble when editing tiddlers. I start with:

"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua."

in the body of the tiddler, I put my cursor before the first word and press space ten or so times. The result is this:

"L i d s a consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua."

It happens in a freshly downloaded wiki from tiddlywiki.com and also with a few-year-old wiki I have. It doesn't happen in Firefox, but Firefox doesn't seem to support other things I want to do :-(

Any ideas?

Tom.

Perhaps you have a stuck right arrow key or something on your keyboard. Place it upside down on you lap and do a short drum solo. Be prepared to get the vacume cleaner out after.

What do you want that is not in firefox?

Tony

Hello Tony, thanks for answering!

I'm on Android, so it's a software keyboard. I don't use my PC for tiddlywiki very often.

Lots of the plugins I plan to use say they were only tested on Chrome, and I can't get tiddlydrive to work on Firefox mobile.

Another big one is that I use Hermit to make a light app so that my wiki isn't buried in a sea of tabs in my main browser. Hermit is based on Chrome.

I presume you are using the standard tiddler editor?.

If you use an edit-text widget in the current tiddler you can loose focus on the edit field without a special design approach.

I find it hard to imagine how this is happening for you. Perhaps try a fresh wiki or previous version to diagnose this. Test other notebook apps or text fields to see if its the phone or wiki.

Best of luck
Tony

I tried this text box in Google groups and a note-taking webapp without repeating the problem.

I'm getting the same problem in 5.1.14 and 5.1.21 whether it's empty or populated with tiddlers... I'll try to find something older to test.

Also, yes, I must be using the standard tiddler editor. (I don't know anything about noon-standard ones, and I used a fresh empty tiddlywiki from tiddlywiki.com

It is very odd. I assume you have restarted your phone. If you have more than one keyboard installed try another.

Have you tried tiddloid or quinoid apps?

Real mystery tiddlywiki across browsers but to do with keyboard entry.

Restarting doesn't help, but you found the problem!
It was the Google keyboard! The same one I was using in Firefox, but it only caused problems in chrome o.0

Thank you!

@Tom, I can confirm this! I also get this odd behaviour in Chrome but not FF, on Android.

Can you raise an issue about it on github?
