As many of you will have gathered, there have been some changes with
ZiddlyWiki. It was originally developed by Tim Morgan who did a
terrific job to marry TiddlyWiki with the elegant and powerful Zope
open source content management system to produce one of the more
robust and flexible serverside implementations of TiddlyWiki.

After over a year of dedicated hard work, Tim has decided to move on
to other projects - in which I'm sure we all wish him the very best of
luck. Happily, rather than let it die, Tim has agreed to transfer
ZiddlyWiki to tiddlywiki.org where the ongoing development will be
hosted. Better yet, Bob McElrath, an already distinguished
TiddlyWikier, has agreed to take over as maintainer of the project.

The trigger for this announcement is that finally all the DNS transfer
magic has now been done, and you ought to be able to get to ZiddlyWiki
using the expected URL:

http://www.ziddlywiki.com

Also, remember that ZiddlyWiki is not the only serverside for
TiddlyWiki. There are several others listed here:

Cheers

Jeremy

Three cheers (for Jeremy, for Tim, and for Bob)!

Many of us have come to depend on ZiddlyWiki for robust joint
editing. I, for one, would be quite stranded without it. Thanks!

Great!

There are also several new versions released since Tim passed the reins
to me. I checked the other day and I think only one person has
downloaded it. (Undoubtedly because no one could *find* it) 2.0.11.4
is the latest, and remember to check
http://www.ziddlywiki.com/#UpgradeZiddlyWiki
There is an important script you must run to upgrade to this latest
version! Finally see
http://www.ziddlywiki.com/#ZiddlyContributions
we welcome contributions from other zope/tiddlywiki hackers.

What are the plan regarding upgrading ZiddlyWiki to the (soon to be released) TW 2.1 functionality?

I have made a fork of the codebase that is 2.1-compatible. (the changes
are small) Actually this is where all my changes have been going.
There are many new features waiting for TW 2.1 to be released. ;)

But I also leave for Japan soon, so the release might be delayed
compared to the TW 2.1 release if Jeremy releases this or next week.
