Hi Giovanni

mGSD is a much cherished part of TiddlyWiki's heritage, and the community has learned a lot from its users. Some of the key features of mGSD will be built into the TW5 core (for example, checkboxes and tagglytagging); the intention is that the more complex features would be constructed out of the core primitives provided by TW5 (one of the goals of TW5 is to efficiently support the work of other toolmakers who are building on top of it). There will be a range of editions of TW5 published on tiddlywiki.com that are tuned for different purposes -- I'd certainly hope that Simon and others in the community will contribute editions designed for people using GTD-like approaches.

I'd be interested to hear how you might rank the important features of mGSD.

Best wishes

Jeremy

Hi all,

are there any plans to port/integrate mGSD into Tiddlywiki 5? If no, how difficult that would be?

I will definitely be porting dGSD to TW5, as soon as there is a full stable release.

FYI, as mGSD seems to have been long abandoned, I've continued this excellent work and added a ton of features as dGSD at http://thinkcreatesolve.biz

I was about to ask the same question. Happy to see that Szego wants to port dGSD to TW5.

There is a gtd group too, but it hasn't that much traffic.

Hi Giovanni, see above for the GTD Group. I keep active in there. As for a code base, I just keep hacking away at my own dev copy of the Tiddlers, and then upload a clean version when I think it's usable. Not the most formal method of development, but it works for me!

Hi Jeremy,

As a long time user of mGSD (2006), I agree with Giovani about the most desirable features: GTD-related views of projects and action lists, "post it" notes on action and project tiddlers, and a general clean look.  Unlike the dGSD fans, I like mGSD for its pure GTD approach.  My ideal would be a straight port from mGSD to TW5.

TW5 looks and sounds excellent so far.  With the current level of development, there is bound to be some right-tasty GTD goodness down the line.

It may be abandoned but it has some slick features that I think dGSD could use.
I much prefer the functionality of your version (am using 1.5e) and finally got it to
write - seems an artefact of rebooting! - but I really like the right sidebar in mGSD,
the separate tabs for each Realm, for example.

The underlying models seems so radically differnt that its not jsut a matter of importing
twidders.

Do you have a roadmap or an 'enahncement request'?

Hi all,

I am a long-time-mGSD user too. I like its pure GTD approach and finally I have done some "my own changes" on the top of it. (e.g. I've change the behaviour of the view, without changing its core code.)

My edition is uploaded here: https://github.com/AaronLaw/mGSD-enhancement
(I have added a "Q" for Queue button and Auto-focus view and some minor things on it.)

It's fast, light-weight, portable, and I keep all the information myself. I am sad with the disappearing of Simon...Where are you Simon? I am looking forward the TW5 edition of mGSD.

What I really need is mGSD on my cell phone ...

Maybe somebody should try to teach journalists to say "scriptkiddies".
It would reduce the ego-boost would-be "elite hackers" get from
descriptions of their squalid little pranks.

Hi

I have been working on a an entirely new version for TW5, mostly as an experiment to see what can be done with TW5. An empty edition of Q&D gTiD may be found here: http://gtid.tiddlyspot.com/

A version populated with sample tickler folders and a short outline of how this is made may be found here: http://wills.tiddlyspot.com/

I am currently working on upgrading the code to v5.0.12-beta, and I hope to add a few other features once I have tested out a couple of plugins I am working on here: http://gwiz.tiddlyspot.com/

I wish to stick to a clean implementation without diary and without priorities; these are best taken care of with software designed for the purpose. I would appreciate any comments with respect my implementation, and especially any discussion with respect missing features.

regards

Hi Ton

I tried that today -- my post hasn't yet appeared. Either my post awaits moderation or the moderators at that forum have an agenda.

Whoa! That came out of the blue!

That looks great Jeffrey!!! My use of GTD is one of those things that has been neglected because of the TWC->TW5 transition, so thank you very much, I'll definitely look into this properly!

@Jeremy - if this is considered polished enough, it should probably be included in the lists on tw.com, perhaps even in the tiddlers that explicitly reference GTD

This is very similar to what Roma is doing. In fact the name is the same and the apparrance is identical. If you are only referencing roma's work you did it wrong. Looks like one of the old version.

@everyone

It seems I misinterpreted Jeffreys message. He IS in fact referring to Romas tiddlyspot site, which I realized from looking at Romas post here

I must therefore thank Roma and my post (two posts up) refers to Roma an noone else. Or perhaps a thank you to both Jeffrey and Danielo who made me aware of Romas creation.

A question regarding intellectual property - conventions for translation, renaming, referencing and republishing a plugin and a general code of conduct.

I made a danish translation of Roma's GSD5. In danish it is called FMG5. (Få Mere Gjort: "Getting More Done"...)
I wrote a reference to Roma Hicks and a link to gsd5.tiddlyspot.com at fmg5.tiddlyspot.com.
Is there a newer version of GSD5? @Danielo?

@Roma @TiddlyVerse. Is it ok that I translated, renamed and repackaged Roma's gsd5 plugin - with due reference and links to his original work?

@Roma - Is it ok with you? - If not I will of course delete it instantly...

But of course. IMO. But maybe it's a legal issue not covered by the general TW open source licensing statements? An interesting question.

No, i think that is the latest. Anyway, It's better if you check the project's github page from time to time to make sure:
