Exclude a Tag from a Search

I am trying to exclude a template from what I call my Inbox (items created today with the tag @inbox) using:
<<tagging @inbox>>

The problem is that I also have a template(s) with both @inbox and template that I would like to exclude and just keep the tiddlers tagged @inbox. Any suggestions. I have tried using MatchTagsPlugin, but being kind of new to all of this need some help.

You should tag the template tiddler "excludeLists". (without the
quotes)

If it doesn't work you may have a plugin installed, that overwrites
this setting.

Thanks for the response. I tried that as well as excludeSearch, but it does not seem to work. The only plugin that I have installed are tiddlyNotesSync, so I will keep trying and hopefully something will work. Thanks again.
