On Firefox 46, control-shift-I (to insert an image) is grabbed by the browser to open the Inspector before TW ever gets that key so that key combo is useless on FF. So how can I edit the keyboards shortcuts? I found where they are displayed, and when I edit that shadow tiddler I don't see any keyboard shortcuts to edit.

Thank you.

EDIT: Found it under More, Shadow, $:config/shortcuts/picture

I assigned "insert picture" to ctrl-alt-I, but ctrl-alt-I doesn't seem to do anything. Is alt supported on Windows? Ctrl-Shift-P is already taken by FF to browse privately. Using ctrl-alt combinations would be good because FF uses a lot of ctrl-shift combinations. Setting 'insert picture' to win-I also does nothing on FF and Win 7.

Hi Chuck

1. Open the “Keyboard Shortcuts” tab of control panel.
2. Click the expand arrow next to the shortcut you want to change
3. Choose which platform you want the change to apply to
4. Click the appropriate pencil icon
5. Click in the box “Type shortcut here”
6. Type the key combination you want
7. Click the “add shortcut” button

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Got it. Thank you!

It looks like that if FF uses a short cut, FF intercepts that key combination first before TW gets it, so many key combinations for TW do not work in FF like: ^L (go to location bar), ^-shift-I (opens browser inspector window), ^-shift-P (opens private browsing window).

But someone can edit the keyboard shortcuts. I think I'll be using ctrl-alt combinations for FF.

Oops, it looks like ctrl-alt-p doesn't work to insert a picture in TW, and FF doesn't seem to capture that key either. It simply does nothing. ctl-alt-p is my only shortcut to insert a picture. I'm using a new Markdown tiddler to test these shortcuts.

When inserting pictures do I have to type in and select an image name or image url first, then hit ctl-alt-p? I tried it and that didn't work either. I typed in 'stuff.jpg', selected it, hit ctl-alt-p and nothing happened.

Hi Chuck

If you’re experiencing these clashes then they are going to be affecting all users on your platform (I’m guessing Windows; I only have access to a Mac), and so I’d like to fix things for everyone if we can. It would be great if you could share your keyboard shortcut customisations when you’re done,

Many thanks,

Jeremy
