I use simple search for tiddlywiki.

When I want to select the first item, I need to press the tab for three times. Which is pretty boring. Any way to use up and down to select the item?

The next release of TW (5.1.23), which you can view here: https://tiddlywiki.com/prerelease/ has enhanced keyboard control so that pressing down-arrow from the search input field will move the focus to the first item in the search results.  Subsequent use of the up/down arrow keys will move the select through the search results list.  Pressing "enter" when a result in highlighted will navigate to that tiddler.

P.S.  On the assumption that English is not your primary language: "boring" usually means "uninteresting or not exciting".  A more suitable word might be "laborious" which means "needing a lot of effort".

Thank you a lot for your advice about the usage of `boring`. Gotcha, I will use the word more accurate in the future.

I use nodejs version tiddlywiki.
Hi I already upgrade to 5.1.23 but seems no different either in `simple search plugin` or `original search` when I press down nothing happened.

I checked the link:
https://tiddlywiki.com/prerelease/#EditTextWidget and https://tiddlywiki.com/prerelease/#keyboard-driven-input%20Macro
But still dont understand how to set the keyboard-driven-input `macro`
In this page I can use the `down` to select the first item correctly.

How to fix my issue.

The 5.1.23 pre-release is re-built every time Jeremy checks in some new changes.  It's possible that the version of 5.1.23 that you are using is a bit older, and thus doesn't have the latest keyboard control handling. Try upgrading again to get the latest build.

Thank you it works. But in the normal search. I use the search plugin `simple search` now.

I wonder it is there a way to make macro to use down and up to select the item, not 3 times `tab`.
