Stand-alone 2-column editing? (a la Stroll)

I was experimenting with Stroll - Being able to edit 2 tiddlers side-by-side is extremely useful.  Is there a stand-alone version or something similar? I'd like to be able to excise text to a new tiddler in the 2nd column, for example. Thanks.
