Prototype - Resize SideBar width

Folks,

Please find attached a prototype button to alter the size of the sideBar interactively

Drop the attached package in your wiki and import, or test on Tiddlywiki.com.

A new page control button will appear.

Clicking this will open a modal in which you can enable this control. Which looks like this;

Simply drag the range slider to change the width of the sidebar to taste.

You will see the layout change in the background behind the modal.

It works. I think it could be a good help for me. I am mostly working on two different laptops, one with a high resolution and wide format, the other a small older one with low resolution and the old screen format.

Easy to use, but one thing is annoying the modal covers a lot of the view, cannot be moved.  I used it for  the setting and then put the relevant part of you code in a tiddler tagged $:/tags/SideBarSegment. Dragged it to show right under the subtitle. That made it much easier to see what was happening and make a judgement of the result.

Thank you for this one, it will definitely be of use for me.

I am glad it may be of help.

I put it in the sidebar at first and found it difficult to use. That's why I moved it into the modal.

I also thought about putting it in the new menu bar.
